Plan Objective
This modification from the 10/28/21 approved legislative map represents the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community's (SRPMIC’s) principles. District 8 was modified to include SRPMIC’s Tribal Lands to the north and extended south to include Mesa Public Schools. A significant number of SRPMIC’s children attend Mesa Public Schools.
Surrounding Districts were modified to simply provide ‘balance’ and pass the online tool’s ‘integrity check’. No reasoning was provided to these surrounding District boundaries except to accomplish this balancing goal.
