Plan Description
Extends D7 along the border and gives part of Santa Cruz to D6, aredjusts Casa Grande and AZ City between D2 & D7. Slightly alters Wickenburg for D2 balance population
Plan Objective
Based off CD 12.1, this plan gives the state a 5/4 split.
It offers Mehl idea to give the southern border to D7. It gives half of Santa Cruz County to D6. To balance population it switches half of Casa Grande and Arizona City between D7 and D2 and slightly adjusts Wickenburg for pop balance. In Tucson if offers Campbell as the dividing line between D6 & D7 to accommodate Mayor's wishes and Lerner's desire. This makes D6 basically a 50/50 R&D split. Gives the entire state a 5/4 split that favors Republicans by one. Population is balanced.
This is a good alternative and compromise. Abides by constitution, COI and contiguous districts! And on top of that (which isn't required by law) it works favorably along party lines.
